Overall, I’m happy that I’ve finally watched this much of the dub and I look forward to future Blu-Ray releases of the series. There are a lot of lines of dialogue that are pretty much just the same from the film, but that’s ok… if only the fight was as good as the one in the film, but oh well.Īlso, the Animation and Artwork is still heavily flawed on the Blu-Ray. Chris Sabat is at his best as Vegeta, but there are some scenes where Piccolo sounds a little awkward, but it’s only in the early parts of when Beerus is around.įor the most part Sean Schemmel is still brilliant and iconic as Goku, but in some of the powering up scenes it does feel a little too much, and there’s a scene where he’s talking in his head and it doesn’t really sound like Goku, but I don’t know why that is. Alexis Tipton shows that she is still a worthy replacement for Laura Bailey as Trunks. I would say that Kara Edwards sounds quite high-pitched and maybe a little more annoying that in Dragon Ball Z, but it’s ok. He has always managed to nail the intensity and and also the light-heartedness of the character.Ĭhris Rager is still brilliant and fun as Mr Satan. Monica Rial has shown us time and time again that she truly understand Bulma as a character, and the actors for Beerus and Whis are still amazing, especially Jason Douglas as Beerus.

I’ve already spoken about some of my issues with the story and this arc in my review of the series overall, this is pretty much going to be about the dub from here on.įirst off, the acting is at its best. Although, when we first saw this we believed that it would only be a quick retelling and we would get quickly into some original stuff. It just becomes a retelling of the Battle of Gods story. But this isn’t what the series gets to be. This is all really fun, and sort of sets the tone for the series being quite fun and maybe showing us more of the minor characters or the younger ones, like Goten and Trunks for example. We get to see an episode of Trunks and Goten doing their thing and getting into some crazy hijinks. This is the retelling of the Battle of Gods arc and one of the worst arcs of the series either way.įirst off, the first episode is still such a good set-up for what the series could have been. This will cover the first Part of the series that covers the first 13 episodes. So, I spoke about Dragon Ball Super in a recent post, but this time I will be speaking about the Funimation dub, not the series in general.
